Administrative Assistant

The Hanover Ag Society is a non-profit organization, run by dedicated volunteers, and presents the annual Hanover Ag Fair along with numerous other events throughout the year. The society consists of an elected board of directors, as well as many other volunteers who serve as organizers for specific events and activities. We are currently looking for a self-motivated, reliable candidate for a part-time Administrative Assistant position.
Responsibilities
• Administrative Assistant to the President & Executive Team
• Grant applications and reporting
• Assisting event administration
• Creating and maintaining policy and procedures
• Support other staff and contractors
• Work closely with the Hanover Ag Board of Directors and volunteers
Qualifications
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic website maintenance
• Experience planning events
• The ability to be flexible and work independently
• Strong organizational and administration skills
• Ability to work with volunteers in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience with grant applications and media writing an asset
The requirements for this position are 25 to 30 hours a week with increasing hours leading up to and following large events. Flexibility required with the opportunity to work from home. This is a paid position with compensation based on qualifications and experience.

Staffing Coordinator

Community involvement and providing quality, family friendly events is at the heart of the Hanover Ag Society. We are seeking individuals to join us as Staffing Coordinators to assist with our events throughout the year. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who enjoy communicating with people and customer service, are semi-retired or retired or looking to build on management skills for your resume.

• Please provide a summary to introduce yourself, why you are interested, what events you can assist with and your past volunteer and/or work experiences that would prepare you for this role.
• We are looking to build a team of Staffing Coordinators to share the responsibilities involved with a goal of having the team established by July 1, 2022. Please contact Hanover Ag prior to June 30th.
• Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications
Hanover Ag Exhibition Park located in Grunthal, MB, we host multi events:
• Buckles & Boots Rodeo & Dance – July 15-16, 2022
• Back Porch Jam / Farm to Table Market – Tuesdays July 19-August 9, 2022
• Hanover Ag Fair – August 18-21, 2022
• Snow Place Like Home – December 15-31, 2022
The volunteer duties and responsibilities for this role includes:
• Attending Hanover Ag Society event meetings throughout the year.
• Reviewing Volunteer Schedule and update as necessary.
• Recruiting responsible volunteers to work in volunteer stations. (there is assistance from others on calling past volunteers to schedule them for events)
• Assist in creating volunteer packages
• Organize and host a volunteer meeting or training with assistance committee members.
• Be available during events to supervise, encourage and offer support to volunteers.
• Volunteer scheduling can range from 20 to 200 volunteers depending on the event.
The ideal candidates for this role will be:
• Reliable, organized and be present at events.
• Friendly, enthusiastic and can maintain positive volunteer relationships.
• Customer service focused and passionate about serving the community.
• Can work within a committee and board structure where ideas and problem solving are collaborative.
• Access to a computer with basic computer skills in Excel, Word and email is an asset.
